I got a gas tank for it but it has sludge in it
So my buddy, who is my very able mechanic, and I came up w/ a redneck solution: set it on fire and burn it out
Theoretically, it would work, but....
through research I found that gasoline ignites at around
450 degrees F but I don't know the metal composite of the tank so I don't know how a fire would affect the tank, itself
Also, gasoline is flammable, but the fumes are combustible...
So, I'm worried that, as the gas burns, the fumes will ignite and the tank may become airborne.
we will be using as little gas as possible--just enough to wet the inside of the tank
Also thinking of putting the whole tank in dying fire, thinking that an even temperature inside and out will be more effective and possibly safer
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated
