I have a bit of a pickle. I had a one night stand last week and I can't stop grinning about it! The sex was THAT GOOD! Granted, it may just have been me
because it had been a few months (last time was a booty call with the ex that did not benefit me at all). I see this person semi-regularly (about every other
week or so). I am attracted to him, but he is not interested in a relationship. I'm ok with that because I don't know that it would work out anyway.
I haven't seen or talked to him since the event (he has my number). how do I let him know that I may be up for it again sometime? Or do I leave it alone
and savor the memory?

ditto traces. but i think it'd be a bit difficult not to have feelings eventually? ["i have a friend..." story] girl was going out with this guy pretty much everyday for a couple of weeks, but it was all just drinks and sex. one night in bed, the guy goes, i need to get a new flat. girl, not wanting to presume anything, says "that's easy, find a girlfriend and then move in with her." guy cuts off all contact after that. turns out he thought they WERE a couple and got offended. girl leaves well enough alone until she realises her period's very very late. manages to get a hold of guy on april fool's day. now THAT was an interesting phone call. [/friend] but anyway. just enjoy it. (and oh yeah, happy april fool's!)

number one ... methinks sex is usually good !!! next ... you say you are attracted to him ... so you already have some kind of 'feelings' ... he doesn't want a relationship ... and if he did, you say it probably wouldn't work anyway ... sooooooo, as i look in my crystal ball ... there is (or could be) a "HURT" for YOU somewhere down the road ... [you gotta look out for YOU] why not wait for your next meeting (you say you see him every other week) and see how HE is ... is he cold, is he warm, is he glad to see you, does he shy away from you !?!?!?!?!?! i say next time you see him, test the waters ... if he's still warm to you ... then in conversation tell him you had a great time last meeting ... and would like to do it again some time ... get his reaction to that ... he won't know, if you don't tell him !!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO ... enjoy it as you can and if he seems COLD at your next meeting ... you always have your 'pickle' !!!

puzzled is probably right...and I know that when a guy says he doesn't want a relationship, he doesn't. I will definitely see him next Tuesday...if he wanted a repeat he would have called. I have no advice to offer.
But, I'm 100% sure that you can find a totally fulfilling relationship. If not with this dude, then with someone better. Some very wise person recently mentioned to me that she was just sitting there in the dark and her girlfriend came in and switched on the light. Maybe from this encounter, you realize that you are sitting in the dark and that's something maybe a lot of people don't get. It's not memories. It is the future potential and future memories after that right person switches on the light. |
