I don't understand WHY my grandson's mother hasn't been giving him his medicine. I could choke her!

Yes. (I watch him 3 days a week) He throws up alot, 10 - 15 times a day.(has, since the day he was born) He was put on liquid Zantac 1 ml twice a day, filled on May 27. He hasn't been getting much better and when I gave him his medicine Thursday morning, I noticed the bottle was still more than half full. I looked closer and saw that only 20 ml were gone from the bottle. I was livid. I've given him 13 ml myself! When confronted, by myself and my husband, all she did was roll her eyes. I think she has some major issues. But we don't know what to do about it.

Okay guys, I need to rant. Just before I hit reply on that last post, my grandson threw up again and crawled thru it. I called his mother and told her that I was either bringing him back to her or I was taking him to the emergency room. She said, "Bring him to me, I'll take him where he needs to go." I packed him up and on the way something inside my head snapped. When I got there I told her, again, that there's no way he's been getting the medicine as prescribed or the bottle would have been empty and refilled by now. Her response was that she gives it to him when she's supposed to. Again I pointed out that the bottle was still half full, to which she replied, "I'm not the only one who has him thru the week." This really set me off, (if you all only knew the history) I said "Well it's your responsibility to make sure whoever watches him gives it to him! And further more, if you were throwing up 10, 15 times a day, you'd certainly make sure your ass got to an emergency room! What kind of mother lets her kid throw up 10, 15 times a day for weeks at a time and does nothing about it? And as far as it not affecting his growth, the boy is losing weight, I can damned near wrap his diaper around him twice!(there's more, but let me fill you in that she has asked me to write down everything he eats and how often he throws up and how many dirty diapers he has in a day... And that she herself is 5'4, 80 pounds soaking wet ...) I went on to say, "And as far as keeping track of how much he takes in and how much comes out, that's what f*cking bulimics do and that boy is not a f*cking bulimc!" So then she bolted out the door, and I may never see my grandson again. However, my husband said he will not stand by and let this keep happening, he will report her to child protective services. I just don't know that it will do any good. I feel like our hands are tied and we can only try to get our son (my stepson) to start keeping a very close eye on things, go thru the house and if he finds anything that doesn't belong (syrup of epicac or baby laxative) to confront her strongly) And to watch her give the medicine to be certain he's getting it. And if all else fails, get his permission to have the child examined ourselves ... thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders, I'm at my wits end.

Thanks Traces. Luckily, he hasn't married her, and I don't think he will. She took him to the emergency room and she says they told her its just acid reflux and they might have to strengthen his dose and change his formula. Same old song and dance, none of which has helped so far. We aren't even sure that's really what they told her. It just seems to me that a doctor, any doctor, would take more action than that. I mean the child doesn't just spit up, he vomits puddles. I just hope he gets better, that some miracle intervenes and he just gets better. I know for a fact that he's lost weight from 20 lbs a month ago to 17.5 today, I weighed him myself, but she said the doctors in the emergency room tonight told her he'd gained so much weight that they might decide not to increase his medication. (not that he's getting it anyway.) It's too sad.
